This tutorial uses the Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe from the site. The following is the proper list of ingredients:
  • 4 oz.or1/2 C UNSALTED butter
  • ½Cup Butter Flavored Shortening
  • 1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
  • ½ Cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • ½ Tsp Almond Extract
  • 1 tsp TABLE saltor 1 tsp FINE SEA SALT
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 ¼ C All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional)
Chocolate Chip Cookie Ingredients
Gather all your ingredients before you begin mixing. Staying organized during the mixing process will reduce the chance of mistakes and ensures that you will have everything. Proper ingredients are key. Review those ingredients now to make sure you have what you need.
Cubed Butter
Cube 1/2 Cup or 1 cube butter. This will make it easier to soften in the microwave. Only the Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe uses 1 whole cup of butter, or two cubes. For that recipe, the butter should be chilled then cubed before putting into the mixing bowl.
Cracked Eggs
After gathering all ingredients, it is now time to prepare them for the mixing process. Crack the two eggs into a separate bowl. I like to use a glass measuring cup for easy pouring when it is time. Pre-cracking the eggs is nice because this gives you a chance to see if the eggs are good to use. It is not fun to discover yucky eggs once they are in the dough. Also, if shells fall into the egg it is much easier to pick them out of this small glass cup then rummage through the dough.
