Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is the cookie recipe that my kids love to make with me. The finished dough freezes really well so you can have freshly baked cookies whenever you feel the need.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup margarine 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1 cup dark brown sugar 1 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs, beaten 2 tablespoons milk 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose (plain flour) 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda (bicarbinate of soda) 1 teaspoon salt 2 cups quick-cooking oats 1 cup chocolate chips 1 cup chopped walnuts
Cream together the margarine, butter and both the two sugars. Add eggs, milk, vanilla and beat. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt - and stir into the creamed mixture. Gently stir in the oats, chocolate chips and walnuts. Cover the dough and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Shape the dough into flattened balls, and place 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Put on a wire rack to cool for as long as you can resist them!
